WPS AI 'Lingxi' Pro: From Chatting to Getting Things Done
At this year's ChinaJoy, Kingsoft Office showcased its AI assistant 'Lingxi Pro', attracting visitors to test it with real office tasks. The product aims to solve a key pain point: moving AI from 'chatting' to 'doing'. In tests, Lingxi completed a full workflow—from topic selection, writing, data sorting, PPT creation, to sending emails—delivering editable WPS cloud documents instead of fixed images or text.
Lingxi's main strength is deep integration with WPS, allowing it to pull cloud files directly and drop outputs into existing collaboration flows. It features project memory and user profiles, remembering preferences and pausing at key decision points (like choosing a headline) to ask for human input, reflecting a 'human-in-the-loop' design.
The AI office race is heating up, with ByteDance, Tencent, and Alibaba all launching similar tools. METR data shows AI's ability to handle longer tasks doubles every 7 months, shifting the industry benchmark from content volume to task completion. Lingxi Pro is now available as a paid version, with Kingsoft CEO Zhang Qingyuan comparing large models to engines, emphasizing that software's value lies in owning user context—something Lingxi builds through project memory and user profiles.
