WTO Report: AI-related Goods Trade Contributes 42% to 2025 Global Trade Growth

The WTO stated in its latest Global Trade Outlook and Statistics report that although AI-related goods account for only 1/6 of global trade volume, they contributed 42% to the growth of total trade in 2025.

The trade scale of AI goods was $3.43 trillion in 2024 and increased to $4.18 trillion in 2025, a 21.9% rise. North America is the fastest-growing market for AI goods, while Asia accounts for 62% of the global total.

The WTO regards AI-related spending as a key growth driver for global goods trade from 2026 to 2027, which is expected to offset the adverse effects of geopolitical tensions.
