X Platform to Build Multi-Layered Defense System Against AI-Generated Low-Quality Spam

AI-generated low-quality spam is becoming a systemic threat to platforms. Driven by economic incentives, this content is highly adaptive and produced at scale, different from traditional junk. Nikita Bier, X's product leader, said the platform is building a multi-layered redundant defense system to counter such content, with related measures to become evident in months.

The platform adopts a deep defense strategy: adjusting API policies to cut off economic incentives, real-time content detection and metadata marking at the content layer, and dynamic sanctions on revenue sharing mechanisms. These aim to increase attackers' operational costs and restructure the value distribution of the creator economy. Meanwhile, it needs to balance detection accuracy, system performance and false positive risks; future solutions may integrate blockchain traceability, AI content fingerprints and other technologies to enhance authenticity verification.
