Xiaomi MiMo to Launch Desktop App, New Model in Training
Xiaomi's CFO Lin Shiwei revealed at an earnings call that MiMo will soon launch its first desktop app to help users handle work and life tasks in one place. A new MiMo model is also in training and may be released soon.
On monetization, Lin said MiMo's token plans are already bringing in revenue and growing fast. But Xiaomi's AI business is still in heavy investment mode, not focused on making money right now, as it continues to rebuild the whole ecosystem around AI.
In July, the MiMo V2.5 model topped the monthly and weekly call rankings on OpenRouter, a global model usage platform. Lin credited this to MiMo's strengths in model capability, reasoning efficiency, and cost control.
Earlier, Xiaomi open-sourced MiMo Code V0.1.0, an experimental AI coding assistant that runs on devices, supporting models like DeepSeek, Kimi, and GLM for different developers.
