Xiaomi open-sources smart home AI Miloco 2.0 for proactive living
Xiaomi released and open-sourced its new smart home AI solution, Xiaomi Miloco 2.0. It's built on their own MiMo large model and works with OpenClaw to upgrade how you interact with your home. The system can now remember things, recognize people, and take actions on its own.
For example, if someone comes home later than usual, the smart speaker might automatically say something caring. If you add a new device, it suggests how to connect it. It can identify family members by face and body, and learn their habits over time to make smarter decisions.
This is all about making your home proactive instead of just waiting for your commands. To run it, you need a computer with at least 4GB RAM and 256GB storage, running macOS or Linux. You'll also need a Xiaomi account, some smart home devices, and an API key for their MiMo model.
When you want a private AI companion that feels more open, expressive, and truly under your control, this lets you chat and create without restrictions getting in the way.
