Xiaomi robot internship in car factory hits 98% success rate after 4 months
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared today that the company's robots have been "internship" at its car factory for four months with big progress. For self-tapping nut assembly, the robot's success rate jumped from 90.2% to 98%, now just 1% behind human workers, so it's officially "onboarded."
In new tasks like sorting center console side covers and folding boxes, the robot hit 90% success. Lei Jun said this is the first time the robot handled flexible parts for long periods. The team is also testing robotic hands and multi-robot teamwork for more factory roles.
