Xingdong Jiyuan launches 21-DOF 'Brain Hand' XHAND 1 PRO with fingertip-palm touch sensors
Chinese company Xingdong Jiyuan launched the XHAND 1 PRO, a high-freedom robotic hand designed for smarter control. It has 21 direct-drive joints, with fingers spreading up to 135 degrees, letting it grasp large objects like beer mugs and basketballs.
The hand includes 18 touch sensors across fingertips, finger pads, and palm, plus a capacitive pressure sensor (0.1-25N range, 0.01N resolution). It can detect objects up to a centimeter away without contact, enabling smooth gripping and optimized movement. Joint repeatability is ±0.1mm, tested over 200,000 cycles under load.
It works with VR headsets, motion-capture gloves, and other remote controls. It runs on Ubuntu and supports C++, Python, and ROS 2, compatible with x86 and ARM systems.
