YouTube Upgrades AI Tools for Creators with Channel Agent and Dynamic Thumbnails
At the annual Made on YouTube creator event in the US, YouTube announced upgrades to its AI creation tools first introduced in 2025, launching an agent that helps creators optimize their channels in the background.
The agent can analyze a channel's past videos, spot content that is regaining attention, fits news events, or starting to trend, and suggest changes to old thumbnails or titles. According to Amjad Hanif, YouTube's VP of Creator Products, the agent can also extract audience demographics and data to help creators prepare brand partnership pitches.
After a creator uploads a video, the agent can generate thumbnails and titles directly from the content, and give feedback on creator-made thumbnails. The dynamic thumbnail tool supports up to three images per video, with YouTube choosing the best one for different audiences to boost watch time.
Testing is expanding to videos themselves: creators can provide three versions with different openings or structures, and the system pushes them to a small audience to find the version with the highest watch time. Creators can pick the final version, or YouTube will auto-select after seven days.
