Zhipu Releases GLM-5.1 Open-Source Model: 8-Hour Continuous Work Capability, Code Performance Surpasses Claude Opus 4.6
Zhipu officially released the new open-source model GLM-5.1, which is claimed to be the world's strongest open-source model and the only one capable of 8-hour continuous work. It can independently plan, execute and self-evolve in long-horizon tasks to deliver complete engineering results.
In terms of code capability, GLM-5.1 became the first domestic model to surpass Claude Opus 4.6 in the SWE-bench Pro benchmark. It ranks 3rd globally, 1st domestically and 1st among open-source models in the average results of three key code evaluation benchmarks.
Along with the release, Zhipu GLM services increased prices by 10%. After adjustment, the cached token price for Coding scenarios is close to that of Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.6, marking the first time a domestic large model has aligned prices with overseas leading vendors in core scenarios.
