Zhipu's ZCode Apologizes for Code Repository Data Upload Issue, Will Open Source Codebase
ZCode, a coding product under Zhipu, has apologized to affected users through official group chats regarding discussions about code repository data uploads. The company said it completed a self-inspection immediately and the issue has been fixed.
The problem came from ZCode's "code repository indexing" feature, which helps users generate local repository indexes to support session checkpoint recovery, historical version rollback, and Repo Wiki. When Repo Wiki generates knowledge base pages, it may trigger repository data uploads. After the Wiki page is generated in the cloud, the uploaded data is immediately destroyed and not saved. Since this feature was enabled by default at launch, some users were affected.
Zhipu announced it will open source the ZCode codebase soon, invite third-party evaluators to review the system, and continuously disclose review progress. All users will also receive an extra weekly quota reset.
