Zhipu's ZCode Gets Major Update with Four New Features and Full Quota Reset
Zhipu announced a major upgrade to ZCode, its coding harness optimized for GLM, adding four new features: Goal, Subagents, Remote Control, and Idle Tasks. As a special reward for reaching one million users, all GLM Coding Plan quotas were reset at 13:00 today.
In Zhipu's internal Z.ai Code Bench, GLM-5.2 with ZCode achieved a 2.39% higher overall task pass rate compared to Claude Code, but a 1.22% lower check item pass rate. ZCode optimizes context cache reuse, with GLM achieving over 98% cache hit rate, boosting effective token usage by about 30%. From now until August 31, 2026, using GLM Coding Plan in ZCode offers a 1.5x quota bonus, effectively increasing total usage to nearly 1.8 times the regular amount.
The new Goal mode lets developers set a clear objective, and the Agent automatically breaks down tasks, modifies code, runs tests, and iterates until completion. Remote Control allows mobile access to the desktop workspace via WeChat or Feishu, with code still running locally. Idle Tasks execute during off-peak hours without deducting credits.
