Zuckerberg predicts billions will have personal AI agents in 5 years

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg predicted at an earnings call that billions of people will use personal AI agents in five years. These agents understand user goals and help with finances, health, relationships, and home tasks around the clock. He said everyone will interact with multiple agents at once, and WhatsApp has become the main platform for Meta AI.

Despite the optimism, investors worry about Meta's huge spending on new projects. The Reality Labs division lost about $4.6 billion last quarter, totaling $88 billion since 2021. AI infrastructure costs cut free cash flow to just $784 million, down 91% from last year.

Zuckerberg believes personal AI agents will be the foundation for Meta's future products and revenue. But the market remains cautious about rising costs, and the stock dropped nearly 10% after the earnings report.
