10 out of xAI's original 11 co-founders leave, only one remains; Musk restructures and pushes SpaceX merger
Elon Musk's xAI has recently faced another personnel change as co-founder Manuel Kroiss announced his departure. Now, 10 out of the original 11 co-founders have left, leaving only Ross Nordeen from Tesla. Kroiss led model pre-training work, reported directly to Musk, and previously worked at Google and DeepMind.
To handle team changes, Musk is restructuring xAI's architecture, taking direct reports from dozens of employees, and mobilizing staff from Tesla and SpaceX for support. He is also re-screening previously rejected candidates. Additionally, SpaceX has merged and acquired xAI, with the company's overall valuation expected to reach $1.5 trillion.
