AI Digital Artists Qin Lingyue and Lin Xiyan Face Controversy Over Star-Like Appearances; Fantasy Suspense Drama Trailer Released

Shanghai Yaoke Media signed AI digital artists Qin Lingyue and Lin Xiyan, and announced that the AIGC fantasy suspense drama "Qinling Bronze Mystery Record" starring the two will be released in April 2026. This move has sparked heated online discussions.

Some netizens resist AI digital artists, saying their expressions are stiff and lack performance appeal; others recognize their advantages, such as reducing shooting costs, shortening cycles, and being suitable for high-difficulty scenes. In addition, some netizens noticed that the two's appearances resemble multiple stars, questioning whether it infringes on portrait rights.

Legal experts point out that judging portrait right infringement requires comprehensive consideration: if the public can stably identify a specific real person from the AI image (combining factors like appearance, hairstyle, name, etc.), it may be suspected of infringement regardless of whether it is deliberately replicated.
