Alibaba Cloud's Wuying Team Is Building QwenBook, an AI Computer for Office Work
According to LatePost, Alibaba Cloud's Wuying team is developing an AI device called QwenBook, positioned as a native agent computer but closer in form to a "Qwen tablet." The product definition and hardware are developed in-house, and Wuying's cloud computer system and cloud-edge capabilities have been brought into the project.
QwenBook is still an early-stage experiment focused on office work. It uses models including Qwen3.8-Max and Qwen3.8-Flash. The team has about 150 people, with the system team rebuilt from Wuying and Alibaba Cloud OS staff, and the hardware team hiring from major phone makers. The project started around April this year, later than the first Doubao phone launch.
The system-level capabilities shown so far are built on a set of in-house apps, including system-level note-taking, Wiki, smart folders, a self-developed email client, the MyNote knowledge base, and the memory management app MyZone. The team is also working deeply with Kingsoft to integrate WPS, which is still in development.
The team plans to show a QwenBook demo at the Yunqi Conference. It only reveals some features to present the product idea of the Qwen tablet, not the latest full internal version. The complete product is expected to launch by the end of this year or early next year.
