Anthropic expects to stay profitable in Q3 2026, with annualized revenue hitting $65 billion

US AI startup Anthropic has told some shareholders it expects to stay profitable in Q3 2026, marking its second straight profitable quarter. The company first turned a profit in Q2 this year, with revenue hitting $11.5 billion, up 14 times from the same period in 2025.

By the end of July 2026, Anthropic's annualized revenue reached $65 billion, a big jump from $9 billion at the end of 2025. People familiar with the matter said gross margin has topped 80% when excluding revenue sharing with distribution partners like Amazon and model training costs.

Earlier reports said Anthropic has chosen Nasdaq for its IPO, targeting a valuation of about $2 trillion. CEO Dario Amodei has said the AI industry should slow down and promised third-party evaluators employee-level access.
