Bitcoin Miner Bitfarms Plans to Gradually Liquidate Bitcoin Holdings and Fully Transition to AI Infrastructure
Bitcoin miner Bitfarms is gradually exiting the Bitcoin business, confirming it has started selling some holdings and plans to continue selling as it transitions to AI infrastructure. In 2025, the company realized $28.2 million in gains from Bitcoin sales and currently holds 1827 BTC (per BitcoinTreasuries.net data).
CEO Ben Gagnon stated that the company will eventually no longer hold Bitcoin, will sell at opportune times when the market is strong, and will continue operating mining machines to maximize free cash flow before selling them. Additionally, shareholders have approved the company's relocation to the US and renaming to Keel Infrastructure, expected to complete around April 1, 2026, with stock trading under the KEEL ticker then.
