ByteDance launches Seed STEM Scientist Program to recruit 100 researchers for AI-driven science
ByteDance announced the launch of the Seed STEM Scientist Program today. It aims to invite 100 top researchers in frontier science to work on real research problems, using AI to speed up scientific discovery and push the limits of intelligence.
The program is run by the Seed Edge team, which previously started an Edge research plan focused on exploring the boundaries of intelligence. Applicants need strong academic background in STEM, a deep interest in using AI for science, and experience using AI tools in daily work.
The program offers plenty of computing resources, close collaboration with AI experts, and competitive pay. It has two tracks: scientist advisor and PhD intern. The first round lasts about 6 months. Applications close on September 30, 2026, and the work location is in Beijing.
