ByteDance's Volcano Engine Launches Doubao Cabin Assistant, First Featured in Roewe Jiayue 07
ByteDance's Volcano Engine has officially launched its in-car AI assistant, the Doubao Cabin Assistant. Car owners can remotely control their vehicle, check car status, and send trip plans from conversations to the car screen through the Doubao App. The assistant is deeply involved in the full "perception-decision-execution" chain, sensing hundreds of vehicle signals and connecting thousands of vehicle functions like car control, navigation, assisted driving, and entertainment. It can break down complex tasks and execute them step by step.
Volcano Engine also introduced the in-car "Doubao Screen." Doubao becomes a permanent presence in the car, showing different expressions based on chat content. The assistant supports precise multi-zone voice recognition. After waking it from any zone, passengers in all four zones can talk freely without repeating the wake word. It has long-term memory, remembering each person's preferences and allowing custom habits.
Currently, the Doubao Cabin Assistant has partnered with SAIC Motor. The first model to feature it, the Roewe Jiayue 07, will soon begin pre-sales, and related SAIC Audi models will also debut within the year.
