China releases first national standard system for AI agent interconnection, enters pilot phase
On July 21, a meeting in Beijing's Haidian district marked the start of pilot applications for China's first national standard system covering the full lifecycle of AI agent interconnection. Approved in June 2026, the standards address key issues like incompatible communication interfaces and lack of identity management.
The system covers core areas such as architecture, identity codes, agent discovery, interaction, and tool calls. The meeting also launched the open-source AIP V2.1 protocol and issued the first batch of agent identity codes.
Companies including Meituan, Zhipu AI, Qunar, and Didi signed up to pilot the standards. A nationwide promotion campaign also kicked off. Haidian's deputy head said the district will open up government and city management scenarios for real-world testing.
