China Releases Soybean AI Model 'Fengshu' 2.0 for Smarter Breeding
At the 32nd National Soybean Research Conference in Nanning, Guangxi, Professor Xiaobo Wang from Anhui Agricultural University unveiled 'Fengshu' 2.0, a vertical AI model for soybeans. It combines multiple data types to reduce single-model bias and support data-driven breeding. Soybeans are a key crop in China for food, oil, and feed, and this upgrade was a joint effort with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
Fengshu 2.0 features six modules, including a soybean encyclopedia and molecular data, covering knowledge graphs, genomes, and phenotypes. It connects to general AI models and uses a summary module to analyze their answers, giving more reliable results. It can assist with disease diagnosis, parent selection, and marker-assisted breeding. The model's knowledge graph includes 20,000 entities and 100,000 relationships, plus data from 8,000 genome sequences.
