China's AI industry hits record highs in H1, domestic models surpass 10 billion downloads
China's National Development and Reform Commission held a press conference on July 31 to discuss AI progress in the first half of the year. The country's first fully domestic 100,000-card AI supercluster is now operational, and national computing power has grown to 2.8 times last year's level. Domestic AI models have surpassed 10 billion global downloads, with companies like DeepSeek and Moonshot releasing trillion-parameter open-source models that work with domestic chips. Over 120,000 high-quality datasets have been built, creating a positive cycle among computing, models, and data. The AI sector is growing over 30% annually. Integrated circuit production rose 23.1% year-on-year, with exports up 88.7%, contributing nearly a third of total export growth.
