China's First Ascend 950DT 1024-Card AI Cluster Goes Live in Wuhan

The Huawei China Tour 2026 Hubei AI Innovation Development Conference was recently held in Wuhan. At the event, the Ascend 950 kilo-card supernode AI computing cluster, invested and built by Hubei Science Investment, officially went live - the first Ascend 950DT 1024-card computing cluster in China.

This liquid-cooled supernode carries 1,024 Ascend NPU accelerator cards in a single node. It delivers 1EFLOPS of FP8 computing power, with 256TB of unified memory, TB-level card interconnect bandwidth, and microsecond-level communication delays.

Built on the UnifiedBus architecture, all cards in the cluster can access each other directly, fully supporting trillion-parameter model training and AI agent inference. The cluster took only one month from kickoff to going live.

The supernode will offer local computing power for large model training and AI agent development in Hubei Province, filling the region's gap in high-end computing supply.
