China's First Fully Domestic 100,000-Card AI Supercluster Goes Live
China's computing infrastructure has entered a new phase with the launch of its first fully domestic 100,000-card AI supercluster. Located at the Zhengzhou core node of the National Supercomputing Internet, it combines scientific and intelligent computing for future needs.
According to the National Research Center for High-Performance Computing Engineering Technology, the cluster's peak computing power per second equals 200 years of human computing, supporting over 300 tasks in 26 fields like new materials, innovative drugs, and AI.
The supercluster, called Sugon 8000 (Dengfeng), was unveiled by Sugon in July. It uses a 'super-intelligent fusion' approach, supporting full precision from FP64 to INT8 for scientific computing, large model training, and AI inference. It features immersion cooling for high-density deployment and uses domestic coolant for energy efficiency.
