Claude Mobile DAU Grows Nearly Threefold in a Month, Becoming Second Largest Generative AI App After ChatGPT

According to Similarweb data monitored by 1M AI News, Claude's mobile (iPhone+Android) global daily active users (DAU) increased from about 6 million to 17 million in the past month, a nearly threefold growth. It surpassed DeepSeek, Grok, and Gemini to become the second-largest generative AI app after ChatGPT.

During the same period, DeepSeek's DAU slightly dropped from 14 million to 13 million, Grok fluctuated between 12 million and 14 million, and Gemini rose to 14 million before falling back to 11 million. Claude is the only one among the four apps showing continuous growth. The statistics cover mobile only (Feb 21 to Mar 20), excluding web and API usage. Claude's growth aligns with Anthropic's recent frequent release of new features like Projects, computer use, and Claude Code.
