DeepSeek's annual revenue tops $1 billion, secures $7.5 billion funding
According to The Information, two people familiar with the matter say Chinese AI company DeepSeek's annual revenue has topped $1 billion, more than doubling from under $500 million just months ago. The growth comes from higher API pricing and strong demand for its large models.
DeepSeek has secured $7.5 billion in funding and is pushing ahead with a second round, aiming to raise 50 billion yuan by the end of October at a valuation target of 500 billion yuan. The company is also preparing for a listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Sources say Liang Wenfeng told investors that DeepSeek puts over 70% of its computing power into model training, leaving less than 30% for inference. He said the price hike did not cause customers to leave, and demand remains strong. Internal tests show its lightweight model can run stably on gaming graphics cards and handle most everyday tasks.
