Anthropic consults law firms on how AI agents should negotiate for users
According to the Financial Times, Anthropic is talking with law firms about how AI agents should negotiate for people, like getting discounts, handling disputes, or discussing salaries, to get users the best deals.
Sources say the company is learning how lawyers negotiate, so agents can protect users' interests while keeping deals fair. Anthropic is also deciding how much agents should ask humans for feedback, and how careful they should be with other AI agents without being overly suspicious. One idea explored: users sign a document to confirm what the agent must do.
AI is also changing jobs. Anthropic's report shows junior tech staff dropped from 21% to 14% since early 2025, and new junior tech hires fell from 27% to 9%, as the company hires fewer junior roles.
