Doubao Phone Assistant Responds to GUI Operation Limits: Third-Party Apps to Open Gradually After Public Notice Period

Doubao Phone Assistant has released a statement about its screen automation limits. Currently, it only supports system apps, ZTE apps, ByteDance apps, and some connected third-party apps. Other apps cannot use GUI operations for now.

The assistant launched a screen automation declaration protocol on September 14, starting a 30-day public notice period. Third-party apps can declare their operation boundaries and choose to allow or reject AI screen automation within their apps.

During the notice period (before October 15), unapproved apps cannot perform automation operations. The company is communicating with developers and will gradually open automation for related apps after the notice period. After that, developers can still reject, and the assistant will promptly disable related operations.

Besides GUI capabilities, Doubao Phone Assistant also offers AI experiences including smart services, shopping, recording summaries, and work tasks. The Nubia NaviX Ultra phone has been officially released, starting at 5,999 yuan.
