Doubao Says Team Change Affects 11 People, Not Layoffs

Doubao's PR head Liu Xing said recent reports about team changes are not true, calling it only a work division adjustment, not layoffs.

He said part of the general Session team's duties were moved to the trading and work teams, affecting 11 people, with 3 leaving. The team has fewer than 50 people. Claims like "layoffs at a app with 200 million users" and "the chat team cut in half" are false.

LatePost reported that Doubao head Zhao Qi pushed for the change. With over 200 million daily active users, Doubao is one of China's top AI apps, but chat products are facing growing challenges in making money.
