Feng Yuanzheng on AI and Art: Digital Humans Can't Replace Actors' Warmth and Life Experience
Feng Yuanzheng, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of Beijing People's Art Theatre, recently shared his views on AI's impact on the art industry. He believes the charm of theater lies in the warmth of co-creation between actors and the audience, and no matter how AI develops, it cannot dominate humans.
Feng noted that digital humans' tears are drawn, while actors' tears carry warmth and emotion. AI can assist in generating outlines but cannot write personalized lines or shape vivid characters. Actors ultimately rely on cultural accumulation and life experience.
He advised actors not to be anxious about the AI era, but to focus on improving their inner skills and engaging deeply in life. He also pointed out that the popularity of micro-short dramas is inevitable due to fast-paced life, but their creation needs to enhance artistic quality.
