Former Anthropic Researcher to Testify at New York AI Hearing

The New York City Council is reviewing a package of bills to set up safety rules for AI. Council Speaker Julie Menin is urging AI whistleblowers to testify.

According to Bloomberg sources, former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon will appear at an AI hearing in New York City at Menin's request.

Coxon left Anthropic last month. He warned that people seriously working on AI believe it could wipe out all of humanity by the end of this decade.

He also accused his former employer Anthropic and OpenAI of risking people's lives. His testimony could help shape New York's AI rules.
