Google Cloud Launches Gemini Service Built for Government Agencies
Google Cloud has launched Gemini for Government, a service built for government agencies. It is based on Gemini Agent and was developed with the Missouri state government and the US Department of Health and Human Services, along with other federal and state agencies.
The product has five parts: a Skill system that teaches AI agents laws and procedures, connectors that link existing systems, agents built by partners, a governance control platform, and a partner ecosystem. It also works with Oracle ERP, HR systems, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace, so agencies can use their data without moving it.
Google says the service meets the highest level of FedRAMP, the US government cloud security program. Data stays in private cloud environments inside the US and won't be used to train Google's models without permission.
