Honor Robot 'Lightning' Hits 9.32s in 100m, Sets New Record at Humanoid Robot Games
The 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games kicked off in Beijing on August 22. Honor's robot 'Lightning' clocked 9.32 seconds in the 100m sprint, hitting a top speed of 14.5 m/s, breaking the human world record. This year's games feature 50 events, with most requiring full autonomy. Lightning will compete in the 100m, 400m, and 1500m races. Its legs were lengthened to 1.05 meters, and it uses a lightweight design and upgraded joints. The 100m uses a vision-based system, while the 400m adds radar. Honor says the tech comes from its smartphone expertise, including liquid cooling and lightweight materials, and will be featured in the upcoming Magic9 series.
