Insurance Claim Adjusters Are the Most AI-Hating Workers in the US
A study by job site Glassdoor found that insurance claim adjusters are the most AI-hating workers in the US, with 98% of those mentioning AI in reviews being critical. They complain that management pushes faulty AI tools on them, and when AI messes up, they have to fix it. Former adjuster Ahmad Jackson said AI often misclassifies cases and makes things up, adding to his workload, so he quit.
Glassdoor economist Chris Martin says the industry is going through big changes. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 5% drop in adjuster jobs over the next decade, and employment fell 21% between May 2025 and May 2026. Entry-level hiring is down 50% since 2025. AI startups like Liberate and Pace are entering the field, and Lemonade's chatbot already handles 96% of first loss reports.
Some companies stress human-AI teamwork, but adjusters worry they're training AI to replace them. Experts say AI should be a tool, not the boss, because mistakes can lead to wrong payouts, and workers end up taking the blame.
