Jensen Huang Urges Tech Industry to Engage Communities on AI Data Centers
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently said the AI industry needs to engage with local communities better to build data centers. In an interview with CNBC, he stressed that tech companies must work with communities to prepare the public for AI infrastructure. Americans are increasingly opposed to large data centers, but Huang believes they could boost U.S. reindustrialization and lower energy costs. MIT research shows that if data centers adjust power usage based on grid load, consumer electricity costs could drop by up to 5%. Nvidia's data center revenue hit $89 billion in Q2 fiscal 2026, up 117% year-over-year. Huang warned that without more data centers, the U.S. might fall behind in the AI race.
