Li Xiang advises companies not to lay off staff blindly in AI era: Old standards may cut the most suitable talents
The latest episode of Luo Yonghao's podcast 'Crossroads' features Li Xiang, founder of Li Auto, sharing insights on talent standards in the AI era. Li Xiang advises companies not to lay off staff blindly—since AI-era talent criteria differ from the past, using old standards might cut the most suitable employees.
Li Xiang noted that after talking to his company's top 20 employees in Token consumption, he found these individuals aren't traditional top talents (e.g., lacking strong communication skills) but have sharp logical thinking. With AI and the right business environment, they can drive significant value. He also stressed that professional talents, when paired with AI, become even more valuable and irreplaceable; while replacing old tasks is easy, the combination of pros and AI reaches an unreplaceable new level.
