LinkedIn AI spam posts see 40% drop in views, over 1 million users give feedback
LinkedIn says posts flagged as AI-generated spam have seen a 40% drop in views compared to a few weeks ago. Chief product officer Hari Srinivasan says over 1 million people have used the "seems like AI slop" button since July 30 to flag suspicious posts and comments.
LinkedIn prefers user feedback over automated AI detectors to avoid false positives. If a post gets enough community reports, the platform shows a note in Post Analytics, and it has safeguards against unfair targeting.
As AI tools like Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT become common, platforms like Substack and YouTube are also cracking down on AI content. A Business Insider reporter's AI tool, Cringebot 3000, used to generate popular posts, but now such low-quality content may reach fewer people.
