Meituan's AI transformation reaches 90,000 employees via CatPaw agent platform
Meituan's core local commerce CEO Wang Puzhong recently shared his views on enterprise AI applications and revealed the company's four-stage AI transformation journey. He noted that despite abundant AI offerings, few companies can measure tangible returns, due to mismatches in perception, efficiency, scenarios, and performance evaluation.
Meituan's AI journey started with a company-wide "shrimp farming" campaign in February and March, which cost over 10 million yuan daily but caused errors that disrupted real operations. In April, business units set up AI teams. By June and July, they refined their approach through competition, realizing AI transformation is a systematic project involving business, organization, and technology. In July, AI began generating value in internal processes.
CatPaw, Meituan's all-scenario AI agent platform, launched in July and now covers 90,000 employees with 30,000 agents, validated in real business scenarios. CatPaw offers mobile and PC clients with 24/7 cloud operation, integrating local life industry knowledge for store reviews, product copywriting, and marketing design.
