miHoYo Aims to Enter China's Top Tier of Domestic Large Models Within 2-3 Years

Liu Wei, founder and president of miHoYo, said at a campus recruitment talk at Shanghai Jiao Tong University for 2027 that he hopes miHoYo will enter the top tier of China's domestic large model teams within the next 2 to 3 years, calling the company a major player in the field.

Liu previously said miHoYo's AI investment could reach up to 100 billion yuan over three years. If it ultimately fails, he said the company would accept it as a large-scale attempt. He stressed that no team can reach the top level of model development without firmly investing in computing power and scale.

In May, miHoYo held an AI foundation model tech sharing event in Beijing and recruited top campus talent, showing its continued push into large models.
