National Standards for AI Terminals Released: Smart Devices Like Phones and Glasses to Be Graded by Intelligence Level

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State Administration for Market Regulation, and Ministry of Commerce jointly released the GB/Z 177-2026 series of national standards for AI terminal intelligence grading, covering smart devices like mobile phones, computers, TVs, glasses, car cockpits, speakers, and headphones.

The standards follow a "2+N" framework: "2" are basic standards defining AI terminal concepts, intelligence levels (L1 to L4, with L4 to be refined later), and testing methods; "N" are product-specific standards, with the first batch covering 7 categories and more to come.
