Nothing to launch first AI-native product in December, two smart glasses expected
Nothing founder Carl Pei recently said the whole industry is hunting for a new "iPhone moment" - a consumer device that makes AI part of everyday life. In his view, new tech always proves itself at work first, then wins people over at home. He thinks AI is on the same path. Pei pointed out that AI has a context gap today: users spend half their time typing context into a text box, while casual ideas and words never reach the model. He announced Nothing's first AI-native product will launch in December. It has no screen and is not an app. Sources say the company will release two smart glasses. The audio version plays music, takes calls and talks to a phone's voice assistant, with lenses that auto-darken in sunlight. The other has a camera with ChatGPT and translation features. Bloomberg reports the glasses will run AI tasks via phone and cloud, with no AR display.
