OpenAI launches ChatGPT for Financial Services with GPT-6 Astra and multiple financial data sources
OpenAI announced on September 10 local time the launch of ChatGPT for Financial Services, a customized ChatGPT service for financial services teams. The product was co-developed with Morgan Stanley and Evercore, initially focusing on investment banking and equity research scenarios, and is now available to eligible financial institutions.
The service combines built-in financial data with GPT-6 Astra reasoning capabilities to help financial teams conduct research, build financial models, and create customized client materials. It includes financial data from providers such as Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News, and Crunchbase, covering earnings calls, financial statements, company fundamentals, and private company information. Users can trace the sources of specific data and conclusions during analysis.
OpenAI also plans to partner with S&P Global, LSEG, MSCI, Dow Jones Factiva, and Moody's to support users in accessing authorized content through existing financial data subscriptions, and has optimized MCP connectors for financial data providers. On security, the product is built on ChatGPT Enterprise's SAML single sign-on, SCIM user provisioning, and role-based access control. Enterprise business data is not used for model training by default.
