OpenAI Launches GPT-5.5-Cyber Cybersecurity Model, Exclusive to Trusted Professionals

OpenAI recently announced the launch of a new cutting-edge cybersecurity model, GPT-5.5-Cyber. This model will not be available to the general public; instead, it will first be provided exclusively to screened, trusted cybersecurity professionals to help organizations strengthen their network defense capabilities.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman revealed that the limited rollout will start in the next few days, and the company will collaborate with industry ecosystems and government agencies to establish a trusted access mechanism. This phased limited release model has become an AI industry trend, as many enterprises choose not to open their top models to the public due to abuse risks, such as Anthropic's Claude Mythos model launched earlier this month.
