OpenEvidence raises $250 million, valued at $15 billion
OpenEvidence, a U.S. medical AI search company, recently raised $250 million from several hospital systems and Andreessen Horowitz, bringing its valuation to $15 billion. In January, the company had just closed a funding round at a $12 billion valuation.
Based in Miami, OpenEvidence has raised over $1 billion in the past year, with investors including Thrive Capital, DST, GV, Kleiner Perkins, and Sequoia Capital. A source said the company may consider a sale, though it is unclear whether any potential buyer has expressed interest.
Founded in 2022, OpenEvidence is used by more than two-thirds of U.S. doctors for diagnosis and treatment advice. Nvidia is also an investor. The company partnered with Anthropic this week and has previously integrated AI tools from Google and Microsoft.
