Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, Calls It the World's Fastest Mobile CPU

At the 2026 Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Ultra Gen 6 mobile platforms, calling them the world's fastest mobile CPUs.

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said the agentic AI era has arrived, with inference becoming key and edge computing playing a major role. Snapdragon is built for this agentic era. He stressed that great agent experiences should be personalized, proactive, responsive, and trustworthy, while being effortless for users.

Snapdragon aims to make intelligence work seamlessly across phones, PCs, cars, glasses, and other devices, meeting user needs for intuitive, secure, and reliable experiences while enabling agents to understand context, coordinate tasks, and act with consent.
