Salesforce and Nvidia launch Koa, their first reasoning AI model

At the Dreamforce tech conference in the United States, Salesforce unveiled Koa, its first reasoning AI model. Built on Nvidia's open-weight Nemotron model, the two companies jointly fine-tuned it to handle sales, marketing, and customer service tasks.

Koa will be an optional model on the Agentforce platform, where customers can build AI agents for repetitive work like customer Q&A and appointment scheduling. No real customer data was used in training, only synthetic datasets simulating business scenarios, so there is no risk of customer data leaks.

Compared to sending similar requests to Claude or ChatGPT, Koa is better at handling Salesforce customers' business work and uses fewer tokens, helping lower AI costs. Salesforce also announced a partnership with Anthropic called ClaudeForce, letting enterprise users use Claude as the AI front end.
