SK Telecom Joins Hands with Arm and Rebellions to Build Next-Gen AI Inference Solution, More Efficient and Energy-Saving Than GPU Servers
South Korea's SK Telecom recently signed a tripartite cooperation MOU with Arm and local AI chip startup Rebellions to jointly promote next-generation AI infrastructure innovation. The three parties will co-develop an AI inference solution based on Arm AGI CPU and Rebellions RebelCard, and conduct performance and stability testing and verification in SK Telecom's AI data center.
SK Telecom plans to run its sovereign AI foundation model A.X K1 on this type of server. Rebellions expects to launch RebelCard in the third quarter of this year, an acceleration chip designed for large-scale AI inference. SK Telecom believes that the CPU+XPU hybrid solution can achieve better efficiency and energy consumption in inference tasks at a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to GPU servers.
