South Korea's DEEPX Launches 2nm AI Chip DX-M2, Targets 2027 Mass Production for Low-Power Local AI
South Korean AI chip maker DEEPX recently announced that its DX-M2 chip, based on Samsung Foundry's 2nm process, aims for mass production in 2027. The chip delivers 80 TOPS of AI computing power with 5W power consumption, with a long-term vision to enable battery-powered devices to run generative AI models of tens to hundreds of billions of parameters locally, opening the era of physical AI.
Meanwhile, DEEPX unveiled a software strategy to simplify users' migration from NVIDIA platforms to its DXNN software stack. In robotics, users can continue using the Isaac ROS operating system while shifting inference loads to DEEPX chips.
