South Korea's DEEPX Partners with Hyundai Motor to Develop New Robot Physical AI Platform Supporting Local Real-Time Large LLM Operation
South Korean AI chip company DEEPX has recently partnered with Hyundai Motor Group's Robotics LAB to build a new generation of robot physical AI computing platform based on the DX-M2 chip. This platform supports local real-time operation of large language models (LLM), providing efficient edge computing capabilities for robots.
The DX-M2 chip uses Samsung Foundry's 2nm process, aiming to deliver 80 TOPS of AI computing power with 5W low power consumption and is expected to enter mass production in 2027. Additionally, Hyundai Motor Group started mass production of the 5W 'Edge Brain' chip in collaboration with DEEPX earlier this year.
Hyundai Motor Group also plans to exhibit its MobED mobile robot platform at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, further demonstrating its technical layout in the robot field.
