Tencent Recruits Multiple Key Members from ByteDance's Seed Team to Accelerate AI Infra Layout

Recently, Tencent has recruited several core members from ByteDance's Seed team, including Xiao Xuefeng, former head of the visual AI platform, and Zhang Chi, a member of the Infra team. Both have joined Tencent to work on large model Infra-related tasks and report to Yao Shunyu, Tencent's chief AI scientist. Xiao Xuefeng now serves as the assistant head of Tencent's newly established AI Infra department.

In addition, Huang Qi (head of the training Infra group) and Yuan Yufeng (head of the RL algorithm group in the large language model department) also come from ByteDance's Seed team. Zhang Chi's new role at Tencent is the head of the RL Infra group in the large language model department. Earlier, on March 20, Tencent announced the disbandment of AI Lab, with some team members transferred to the large language model department to promote the reorganization of the Hunyuan team. As of now, Tencent has not responded to this matter.
